Phantim are a strange and aloof group of voidfaring creatures. They are technologically advanced in the Universe of Chaos and often show up on worlds during epic upheavals. Phantim rarely lead other kinds, preferring to stay in the background as advisors, scientists, and tutors. They have strange notions of good and evil that they do not force on others, but include them in statements of wisdom and in the way they live their lives.

Phantim are humanoid in shape. Averaging somewhat less in height than humans, a Phantim adult ranges from 140 cm to 170 cm. They have a greyscale coloring to their skin and hair that makes them seem like they are perpetually in shadow, even in broad daylight. All Phantim have straight to slightly wavy hair colored from white to black and every grey in between. This includes mottled coloring patterns as well. Phantim have exceptional metabolisms and are never overweight. They tend towards slight, wiry or athletic body types and are as physically fit as they are mentally.

Phantim are scholars, scientists, craftsmen, and excellent hand to hand fighters. They also have a number of mystical Spectra that they favor within the Natural and Life categories. They live to an average of 150 years, but can live longer through technological and mystical aids when necessary.

Language: To'amir (grammatical constructs and rules are as logical and precise as mathematics)

Phantim society is not exactly a secret from other kinds, but they do keep to themselves and rarely talk about their own people. Phantim are binary reproducers who tend toward strict monogamy for life according to the law of their people. Only death or infidelity can end a marriage, usually with the cheater being cast out of Phantim society. This almost always ends in death.

Men and women are considered equal in all mental and physical aspects that gender specifics do not dictate. They serve The Law equally within their complex administrative structure that feels more like a military than a civilian organization.

Phantim society is located around a central city that has the capacity to transform into a voidfaring vessel. This voidship can carry a million Phantim indefinitely as they search for new worlds to 'help'. While in the void, society continues through generations, though the ship is capable of traveling far faster than light such that it can even travel between galaxies in a matter of weeks.\

Traits & Foibles:

All Phantim have the Even Tempered Trait.

Phantim may choose 1 of the following Traits for free. They may choose 2, but then they must choose 1 Foible as well.

  • Agile Fighter
  • Ambidextrous
  • Avoidance
  • Blind Fighting
  • Defensive Fighter Stance
  • Eidetic Memory
  • Self Controlled

Foibles: Compulsion - Phantim see order or the need for it everywhere they go. This drives them to correct flaws in the world, in societies, or in people as they see them. This tendency can strain social situations if it is not kept in check.

No Sense of Humor

Sense of Duty to Order - Phantim see as their ultimate duty to fight back against entropy and the void. To this end, their entire society is built on the idea of ordering chaotic systems. Some Phantim, however, take these drive toward order a step farther. They see it as a personal duty they owe the universe and cannot, even temporarily, act in a manner that personally increases entropy in systems they are attempting to bring order to. For example, if their current goal is to modernize a primitive, fledgling kingdom, a Phantim with this Foible will not purposefully work to regress the society, even if it might be a shortcut to greater progress in the long run.

These Traits and Foibles do not count toward the Slot total.

As Heroes[edit]

Phantim, as a kind, seek to order the universe. As such, they are naturally out in the universe acting as heroes championing causes of law and order. To this end, Phantim may serve as scouts, spies, defenders, healers, or crowd control. What they lack in mass and overall strength, they more than make up for in speed, agility, and mental alacrity.
